Generate direct download links for Google Drive files
This online tool allows you to easily create a Google Drive direct download link for documents that you want students to immediately download, rather than opening a preview of the file in Google Drive.
This is useful if you are distributing Microsoft Word, Excel or Powerpoint resources via Google Classroom as part of your lesson that you want students to download and/or edit on their computers.

Need help creating a Google Drive Share link?
Step 1
Navigate to Google Drive and find the file you wish to share.
Click on the three-dot menu, and then click on Share in the displayed menu highlighted in purple.
Step 2
In the following window that is displayed, change the file access to Anyone with the link highlighted in purple.
Choosing this option will ensure everyone that has the link will have the correct access privileges.
Step 3
Click on the Copy link button that is highlighted in purple, which you can now copy into the Share Link field.
